Pedaso

A seaside village where the Aso Valley meets the Adriatic, with welcoming beaches and traditions linked to the sea.

The History of This Place

Pedaso is an enchanting coastal village located at the mouth of the Aso River, characterized by an inseparable bond with the sea and surrounding nature. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, when the settlement arose around an ancient castle on the hill, before moving to the shore in the late eighteenth century and transforming into a lively maritime center. It preserves treasures such as the neo-Gothic church of Santa Maria and San Pietro Apostolo, the historic "Chiesolina," and the lighthouse, reconstructed after the war and a symbol of protection for sailors. Famous for the picturesque Lungomare dei Cantautori and the traditional Sagra delle Cozze in mid-August, Pedaso combines beach relaxation, history, and authentic flavors in an atmosphere of welcoming simplicity.
