Until the early twentieth century, it was the only place of worship in the area, holding moments of prayer, celebrations, and daily devotion. Its small size and simple atmosphere convey a popular piety made of essential gestures, shared memory, and a deep bond with the territory.
Today the Chiesolina retains its untouched discreet charm: a small treasure of faith and identity, to be discovered with attention alongside the main church.
Immersed in a lush garden protected as a botanical garden and ranked among the most beautiful parks in Italy, characterized by an avenue of majestic holm oaks and a rich collection of conifers, palms, and water lilies. The garden, adorned with a staircase featuring Carrara marble sphinxes and an oriental oasis, culminates in a grove of holm oaks and magnolias that hosts a charming medieval-style tower made of bricks.
The two city gates marked the entrances to the village from the north and south. Porta da Bora, rebuilt during the Renaissance and later incorporated into the surrounding homes, has preserved its original function as an access point to the town over time. Porta da Sole, built in the early 11th century, represented the main access to the Campofilone castle throughout the Early Middle Ages.
