The beach of Marina di Altidona features a wide expanse of sand mixed with pebbles and gravel. It’s easily accessible from the coast, surrounded by a convenient bike path. Located between the beaches of Marina Palmense and Pedaso in the Marche region, it shares with them the tranquility of a peaceful seaside resort without sacrificing the amenities offered by beach establishments (chalets). The seabed is sloping, and the breakwaters create genuine pools where even the youngest family members can play safely at the shore.
Marina di Altidona is located along the SS16 Adriatica road. It can be reached by car from the A14 motorway, taking the Pedaso exit and continuing north along the SS16.
The nearest railway station is Pedaso, on the Adriatic railway line. From there, Marina di Altidona can be reached by local bus connections or by taxi.
Parking areas are available in Marina di Altidona near the seafront and main services. In summer or during events, it is advisable to check local signs and any temporary restrictions.
The beach of Pedaso is a unique corner of the Piceno coast, famous for its shoreline of over two kilometers where golden sand alternates with a rare stretch of polished gravel. Characterized by legendary-shaped natural rocks and a mild microclimate, it offers a lively welcome thanks to the chalets and the flower-filled gardens lining the sea.
The Palazzo dei Priori stands out with its characteristic fan-shaped façade and the scenic double staircase, guarded by the bronze statue of Pope Sixtus V. Today, it has become the heart of the city's museum complex, showcasing prestigious rooms such as the Portrait Hall and the Eagle Hall, while the most famous treasure remains the World Map Room.
The parish church dedicated to San Giorgio, the patron saint of the city, was built between 1831 and 1851 based on a design by the architect Giunchini. The neoclassical building stands at the foot of the Rocca and next to the clock tower.
