“Un mare di libri” Event Series

After the success of previous editions, the “Un mare di libri 4” festival presents five events, from 1 July to 17 October, featuring exceptional guests: Gianluigi Paragone, Dario Fabbri, Alessandro Campi, Tommaso Braccini and Francesca Boldrer.

Description

After the success of its first three editions, the festival “Un mare di libri” has established itself as one of the most significant cultural events for the city of Porto San Giorgio and the entire Fermo area. Over the years, the series has hosted leading figures from the Italian cultural scene, including Giampiero Mughini, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, Davide Rondoni, Marcello Veneziani, Franco Cardini and Sister Anna Monia Alfieri.

The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Porto San Giorgio together with the association Centro Culturale APS, with the patronage of the Marche Region, the Province of Fermo and the Italian Association of Classical Culture.

For this fourth edition, the organisers have once again selected high-profile guests, with the aim of offering the public genuine opportunities for reflection, dialogue and in-depth discussion.

Among the guests of the 2026 edition:

Gianluigi Paragone, journalist and television presenter — 1 July, 9.15 p.m., Piazza Matteotti;

Dario Fabbri, journalist and geopolitical analyst — 20 July, 9.15 p.m., Piazza Matteotti;

Alessandro Campi, Professor of History of Political Thought at the University of Perugia and editor of Rivista di politica — 4 August, 9.15 p.m., Rocca Tiepolo;

Tommaso Braccini, Professor of Greek Language and Literature at the University of Siena — 21 August, 6.30 p.m., Tourist Harbour;

Francesca Boldrer, Professor of Latin Language and Literature at the University of Macerata — 17 October, 6.00 p.m., Municipal Theatre.

The aim of the series is to promote cultural debate, quality books and, more broadly, the importance of critical and informed thinking as a vital element in the growth of a community. “Un mare di libri” is founded on the belief that high-level culture — rigorous yet accessible — is an essential tool for encouraging discussion and offering deeper perspectives on the major issues of our time, beyond the speed and oversimplification of contemporary information.
