The Sea Festival celebrates the maritime tradition of Porto San Giorgio for a week with concerts, guided tours, exhibitions, and shows. The most anticipated moment is the Giant Pan of the Adriatic, featuring fried fish and a tribute to the Fallen at sea.
The Sea Festival unfolds over a week, with concerts, guided tours, exhibitions, cultural showcases, and shows celebrating maritime tradition. The Festival reaches its peak with the giant pan celebration: in the morning, at the fishing port, there is a mass in the presence of local authorities, followed by a boat outing with the fleet of the Sangiorgio fishing community to pay tribute to the Fallen at sea.
In the afternoon, as has happened for over half a century, the Giant Pan of the Adriatic returns, holding Guinness World Record numbers: it weighs 4500 kg, the handle measures 8 meters, the diameter is 5 meters, and approximately 1000 liters of oil are poured into it, with hundreds of kilograms of fish (small squid and sardines from the Adriatic) being fried over about three hours, accompanied by musical performances.

Piazza Napoli is located in the southern area of Porto San Giorgio, close to the Gramsci seafront and the tourist harbour. If travelling by car, take the A14 motorway exit for Fermo/Porto San Giorgio and follow the signs for Porto San Giorgio south, southern seafront or Piazza Napoli.
The nearest railway station is Porto San Giorgio–Fermo, located in Piazza Giacomo Matteotti. From the station, Piazza Napoli can be reached in a few minutes by taxi or local transport. It is also possible to walk there, heading south through the town centre and towards the seafront.
Parking spaces are available in the surrounding streets and along the seafront. During the summer season, some areas of the Gramsci seafront may be subject to paid parking, with times and conditions indicated on local signs. A seasonal free parking area has also been reported near Piazza Napoli and the southern seafront, particularly useful during busier periods.
The Primo Maggio Festival has become a true symbol of Porto Sant’Elpidio. With over 150 free events along the seafront, 300 market stalls, food stands, concerts, shows, and attractions, it transforms the city into a vibrant, widespread celebration.
The Grand Opera and Symphonic Gala brings a free evening of great music to Piazza Matteotti. Polyphonic choirs, orchestra and the Gran Concerto Bandistico Città di Porto San Giorgio Association present opera and symphonic repertoire.
Terrazza Vista Mare – books, words, emotions is the cultural review of Altidona dedicated to books. In the historic center, with a view toward the horizon, it invites reflection on society, culture, community, environment, and contemporary issues.
