History, America, and artificial intelligence: three lenses to understand our time
The first event of Un Mare di Scienza 2026 arrives in Marina di Altidona on Tuesday, July 4, at 7:00 PM, along the waterfront.
An evening of dissemination and discussion aimed at interpreting our time through three different but deeply connected perspectives: history, America, and artificial intelligence. An open meeting for everyone, designed to bring scientific and cultural dialogue into an informal space, close to the sea and the community.
The guests of the meeting
Participating will be Alessandra Bitumi, Associate Professor of international history at the University of Teramo; Mario Del Pero, Full Professor of American history at the Institut d’Études Politiques, Sciences Po, in Paris; and Lucia Migliorelli, Assistant Professor of computer science and artificial intelligence at the University of Teramo.
Three voices addressing some of the most relevant themes of the present, amidst global transformations, geopolitical scenarios, historical memory, and new technologies.

Marina di Altidona is located along the SS16 Adriatica road. It can be reached by car from the A14 motorway, taking the Pedaso exit and continuing north along the SS16.
The nearest railway station is Pedaso, on the Adriatic railway line. From there, Marina di Altidona can be reached by local bus connections or by taxi.
Parking areas are available in Marina di Altidona near the seafront and main services. In summer or during events, it is advisable to check local signs and any temporary restrictions.
The Primo Maggio Festival has become a true symbol of Porto Sant’Elpidio. With over 150 free events along the seafront, 300 market stalls, food stands, concerts, shows, and attractions, it transforms the city into a vibrant, widespread celebration.
La Buskeria is the international street art festival that takes place in the historic center of Fermo, with a preview at Lido di Fermo. Artists from all over the world bring circus, juggling, music, theater, comedy, and urban performances.
On July 24 and 25, the Pink Night enlivens Porto San Giorgio, with its waterfront, squares, and streets in the center. For two nights, concerts, shows, entertainment, street performers, markets, and open shops paint the city pink and transform it into a celebration.
