Until the early twentieth century, it was the only place of worship in the area, holding moments of prayer, celebrations, and daily devotion. Its small size and simple atmosphere convey a popular piety made of essential gestures, shared memory, and a deep bond with the territory.
Today the Chiesolina retains its untouched discreet charm: a small treasure of faith and identity, to be discovered with attention alongside the main church.
An ancient dish from Altidona’s culinary tradition, Polenta with snails combines simple ingredients, slow preparation and authentic flavours. Since 1974, it has been the highlight of the summer festival that brings Altidona’s historic centre to life every first weekend of August.
Built between 1898 and 1920 in a neo-Gothic style, it houses a delicate Holy Family (1750), attributed to the painter Filippo Ricci. Externally, the facade presents a simple and linear style, while the interior, with a single nave, retains fine furnishings and decorations.
The ancient path, recently reopened for public use, extends south of the populated area, near the lighthouse. It allows access to the summit of Monte Serrone, where a military signaling station once stood.
